Fab Fast Casual
MV+A’s work at Cabin John Village was the first phase of an ambitious re-positioning of a conventional shopping center into a vibrant and dynamic, mixed-use community. The project—comprising two buildings, purpose-built for fast casual dining tenants, with interstitial outdoor dining spaces—makes meaningful use of existing surface parking along the development’s most prominent corner at Seven Locks Road and Tuckerman Lane.
A simple building material palette of brick walls and varying wood, steel and metalwork components provides both continuity and a diversity of expression through purposeful changes of material finishing. The outdoor seating areas deploy an equally tactile approach to materials and furnishings, making for a gracious and welcoming guest experience. The success of this first phase has provided momentum and market relevance to subsequent development phases and has proven inspirational for other projects vis a vis its material palette and approach to detailing.
