Jim Voelzke, FAIA, Joins the College of Fellows
JUNE 2016
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
On May 20, 2016 MV+A’s Managing Principal Jim Voelzke, FAIA, was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows at the Investiture Ceremony at the annual AIA Convention in Philadelphia. Along with the other 148 new Fellows, Jim was recognized by the Fellowship Program as an architect who “has made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who has achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of the architect as an individual, but also honors before the public and the profession a model architect who has made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.”

Jim’s elevation to Fellowship stems from his characteristic and paradigm-shifting work in urban retail and grocery architecture and planning. His work catalyzes neighborhood transformations with thoughtful, seamless designs that bring modern grocery and retail back to the city. Projects like the P Street Whole Foods Market, 77 H Street, Tysons West, and Rodin Square, enhance lifestyles, initiate growth, and act as long-term foundations to benefit the surrounding community.
