MV+A is proud to announce four awards given to its Riverdale Park Station project in Riverdale Park, Maryland this past two months. The firm has worked diligently on the project for nearly a decade, and the awards from two established Washington Metro area organizations recognizes the results of the thoughtful planning and the attention to detail from the design team. The role as the master planner and architect included designing the plan for the 38-acre site, as well as all commercial buildings and interiors for the Whole Foods Market. This is in addition to one of five planned multifamily buildings that is currently under construction. MV+A is also the design architect for the 119 townhouses developed by Stanley Martin Homes.
The work at Riverdale Park Station was first recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington at their 2018 Awards of Excellence Dinner in September. Three Excellence in Construction awards were given in the categories of Retail ($5 Million and Over), Best Masonry Project, and the Whole Foods Market Retail/Interiors Only. In October the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association’s DC|MD Chapter awarded the project team an Award of Excellence for Best Master Plan/Mixed Use Project. The honors were won were in association with the entire Riverdale project team, including Calvin Cafritz Enterprises (owner/developer), Parker Rodriquez (landscape architect), Soltesz (civil engineer), L.F. Jennings (general contractor), and Whole Foods Market.
