Washingtonian features Riverdale Park Station

NEWS    |   January 9, 2017

RIVERDALE PARK, MARYLAND

In their “9 Coolest Developments Coming to Washington in 2017,” the Washingtonian featured Cafritz’s Riverdale Park Station. For the 37-acre tract, MV+A completed the rezoning and master plan, and is now completing construction administration for the development. Associate Architect Ameneh Amirhakimi explains some of the highlights: “As a mixed-use town center, Riverdale Park services the neighboring community – the first Whole Foods Market in Prince George’s County, of course, plus a bridge that relieves traffic from Baltimore Avenue, and LEED certified with loads of internal greenspace. The buildings evoke mid-town America, as though they were built in different eras and the town center evolved over time. One of my favorite elements is the clock tower, which adds a strong vertical dimension. When complete, it will be an important wayfinding element.”

MV+A TEAM

In 2016, we promoted three staff of our staff to Associates and brought in three new team members. We launched our new website, and began weekly “Food Truck Thursdays” and bi-monthly Project Design Reviews. We celebrated work anniversaries from 1 year to 18 years, hosted at least 20 birthdays at the breakout space, had a Halloween office-wide murder mystery, and hosted our first DC AIA event. We can’t wait to see what 2017 brings – and we are hiring!
